Tho proprietors of the Stockton Colliery had completed arrangements to coal the Union Company’s steamer Waihora, but as tho steamer was using non-union trimmers, the miners threatened to cease work if the vessel was coaled. The manager has promised to coal the Waihora in Sydney Harbour, but the men still hold to the position taken up, and state that they will go out if non-union trimmers are engaged. Hobart, October 18. The charges presented by The Times to the Parnell Commission allege that various organisations in Ireland, including tho Land League and the National Federation League, had been brought into existence with the object of establishing Irish independence. The members of these bodies had conspired to promote agrarian agitation and induced tenants to withhold payment of rents. They were also guilty ofiutimldating people by means of boycotting, which had resulted in numerous outrages"being committed. The funds which bad been collected by iRb Leagues were disbursed in inducing persons <o commit crime, to hinder the detection of criminals, and in defending prisoners when upon their trial.
