CRUEL SEALERS.
Terrible accounts of the cruelty of the Newfoundland seal fishers have reached London. It is quite easy to kill a young seal by a blow on the nose ; but their brutal captors simply give the creature a kick on the snout, which may stun it for a few moments, and then begin to flay off the skin and blubber, leaving the bleeding and still living body to flounder about on the ice until the cold puts an end to its excruciating tortures.
