The sa Waverley left Patea at 2.30 pm on the -2nd instant, experienced a fresh breeze from the southward with fine weather throughout, and arrived here at 6 am yesterday. She sailed for Nelson yesterday afternoon, where she is to undergo a thorough overhaul.

The ss Neptune left Blenheim at 3 am yesterday, bad fine weather and smooth sea throughout, aud arrived here at 11 am. She returned*laat evening.

The U.S.S. Co’s ss Penguin left Dunedin at 3.30 pm on the Ist instant, aud arrived at Lyttelton at 9.15 am on the 2nd; sailed again 9.15 p,m., reaching here at 11.45 am yesterday. She experienced very lino weathet and smooth sea throughout the pas. sage. She sailed last evening for Northern ports. Tho barque Kentish Lass, which left Newcastle on the 21st ult., was signalled as we went to press, and the steam tug Mana went out to take her in tow.

THE R.M.S. RUAPEHU, FOR LONDON.

The New Zealand Shipping Company’s R.M.S. Ruapehu sailed last evening shortly after 5 o’clock, for London, via Rio de Janeiro, Madeira and Plymouth. She took 150 passengers of all classes, 27 first saloon, 62 second, and 61 steerage. Her frozen meat chambers were well stocked, aud she took beside a large general cargo. The Ruapehu is due at New Plymouth on the 14th June, and is expected to arrive there a couple of days earlier.
