The mostly approved shapes in the Centres of Fashion for the season are Rouen, Welwyn, Ripple, ATmida and Mita, for Ladies ; Mab, Worthing, Gipsy and Seabreeze, for Children. The value at all times given by Kirkcaldie and Stains for prompt cash is too well and favorably known to the public generally throughout the Colony to require more than passing mention ; and they beg to assure their Patrons that the assortment and value of the present season’s novelties will be found to exceed any previous importations, and that in a number of Departments goods can be purchased on their premises at less cost than they could be had in London. • •
Extraordinary Value is given in Black French Merinos and Cashmeres, 46 inches and. 47 inches wide, Is 6d, 2s, 2s 3d, 2s 6d, 2s 9d; 3s, 3s 3d, 3s 9d, 4s 3d, 5s per yard. The newest shape is the “ Battenburg.’ These are entirely different in design to anything previonsly shown and the most fashionable Aprons of the,day, Is Id, Is 3d, Is 6d, Is 9d, 2s, 2s 6d, 3s, 3s 6d, 4s, ss. A very choice lot of Black Satin Aprons, very handsomely trimmed with Spanish Eace, at Ss fid and 10s each. A magnificent assortment of every shade and width of Picot, and Loop Edge Bibbons and Velvets, also the new Shaded Moires, so much worn for the present season. All the best makes, including Dent’s “ Orient ” and *• Florence ” kid, in all lengths and colors; also a very special line, and one which is certain to give every satisfaction, 4 buttous, 3s 6*d ; 6 buttons, 4s per pair. For Evening wear, 6 to 16 button length, in every shade and size. Fur Lined Kid, trimmed with Fur, 4s 6d per pair. Fur Lined Kid with Fur Lined Gauntlets, 7s 6d. Morley’s Celebrated Makes in all sizes and best quality. Specially to be recommended is a Line of Ladies’ Plain Black Cashmere Hose, at 2s lid per pair. For this season’s trade they have imported a much larger assortment than usual. Many of them were manufactured to their special order and are guaranteed, not to cut, 4s 6d, 5s 6d, 6s 6d, 7s fid, 8s 6d, 9s fid, 10s fid, 12s fid, 15s, up to 24s fid each. This Department is fully assorted with every kind of Trimming, suitable for Mantles, Jackets and Dresses for the Autumn and Winter Season in Astrachan, Fur, Swansdown, Feather, Braids and Bosary. As fur generally was so much worn at Home during the Winter, they had an unusually large parcel sent of Fur Capes, Long Boas, Flouncings and Trimmings. A very choice parcel of Fancy Needlework has just arrived, consisting of Mats, Chair Backs, Mantel Drapes, Fender Stools, Cushions and Slippers in perforated work, Plush and Vel vet in all colors. Some beautiful pieces of commenced needlework in the latest designs, with materials for completion. Macrame Twine, full weight and length. For the season’s trade has been received a splendid lot of Coatings and Trouserings of the newest patterns, in the best English and Scotch makes, in addition to a very large stock of Colonial Tweeds from the celebrated “ Pitone,” “ Boslyn,” and “ Mosgiel ” mills. They solicit a trial of their Pitone Tweed Suits at 45s with evei-y confidence of its giving I entire satisfaction. In the Tailoring Department they have the best Order Cutter in the Colony, together with a special staff of workers, and are thus enabled to execute all orders in first-class style at prices that will be found to be OFETHIBD CHEAPER than is usually charged elsewhere. A beautiful lot of Algerian Plush Bugs in broad stripes, of the newest bright colors, 13s fid each. A very large stock of Eider Down Quilts, Cushions and Cosies in Turkey Chintz and Satin. Mantel Drapes in Plush and Tapestry. A large addition of the newest patterns in Linoleums. Tapestry, Brussels, Gordon, Axminster Velvet Pile and Wilton Carpets in. the latest designs.
