The case promises to be a sensaticnal oue. The young woman was brought before the Justices at Winton to-day, and was remanded for a week. (UNITED TRESS ASSOCIATION.) Invercargill, April 23. Sophia Kidd was charged to-day at Winton with stealing 16 head of cattle, the property of Alexander Ross, of Forest Hill, and was remanded for a week. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £SO each. It is alleged that the accused drove the cattle to Gore, a distance of twenty miles, and there sold them, giving the name of Mrs Allan. She is the daughter of a land holder of the same name, and is of very attractive appearance, and a noted horsewoman.
