Late Color-Sergeant Power, of the Veteran Rifles, intends suing Colonel Mahon for £IOO damages, for alleged illegal arrest. Similar action by Captain McDonald comes on in the District Court. In the Gordon Rifles, Lieutenant Fairs and about 18 members have resigned. Auckland, April 23. Dissatisfaction is said to exist among the A Battery owing to the promotion of Captain Hamersley, of Timaru, as Major, over the head of Captain Payne, who is senior.
