One hundred and twenty thousand bales have been taken for export, and twentyfive thousand have been reserved. Merinos maintained February average. Coarse crossbred advanced 5 per. cent., and best qualities lambs’ wool; 5 to 10 per cent. ; faulty showed similar decline. Wheat inactive ; prices are weaker. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following telegram from their London office, dated 23rd instant. Wool.— The sales closed to-day at the level of last sales, with the following exceptions, ' viz. : —Fine crossbred has advanced $d per lb ; coarse crossbreds, market firmer; greasy merino lamba has advanced per lb ; faulty lambs has declined $d to Id per lb ; greasy crossbred lambs has advanced id per lb. The sales comprise 220,000 bales ; 25,000 bales have been held over for future disposal. 120,000 bales have been taken for the Continent, and 1438 bales for America. TallowGood mutton is worth 29a 9d, and beef 27s 9d per cwt. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following cable message from their London House (Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co.) relative to the state of the wool-market: —“London, 23rd April. The sales have closed firm. Greasy merino is about equal to the closing „ rates of last London sales. Scoured merino 2| to 5 per cent, and crossbred 5 per cent above the closing rates of last sales.”
