THE MAURITIUS DIFFICULTY.

Br Electric Telegraph.—Copyright, (special to united press association.) London, March 18. The Colonial Office has had under consideration the report presented by Sir Hercules Robinson, Governor of Cape Colony, who was sent to Mauritius as Special Commissioner to inquire into the dissensions between Sir John Pope Hennessy, Governor, and Mr Clifford Lloyd, LieutenantGovernor of that island. The decision arrived at is that Sir John Hennessy’s suspension must be confirmed, as in view of the irritated state of public feeling in the Mauritius, and the improbability of his resumption of the Governorship being acceptable to the inhabitants, it ia better for him not to return to the colony.
