AUSTRALIAN FRUIT AND WINES.
By Electric Telegraph,—Copyright, (special to united press association.) London, February 4. The Committee of Experts appointed by the Prince of Wales to report on the fruit imported from the Colonies, complain of the careless packing which is specially noticeable in the shipment of grapes. They point out that good ventilation is essential to the successful packing and carriage
of fruit. They also advise that » Company should be formed in England to work the business. Whilst NewSouth Wales, Victoria,- and Adelaide are looked upon as the most suitable producers, the soil and climate of Adelaide are considered the most suitable for the production of raisins and currants, both of which compare favorably with those imported. An analysis which was made of Australian wines is of a favorable character.
