THE TIMBER TRAFFIC.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND MAIL. Sir,—Through your columns I would like to ask the Railway Department why the’timber traffic' has been stopped in the Wairarapa - For the last week large numbers of truckshave beenloaded with timber for five or six days, and no steps have been taken to convey them to Wellington. I am aware that a bridge has been broken at the north end of the Wairarapa ; but surely this did not paralyse the railway managers. —I am, &c., Sawmiller.
