DEATH OF A MISER.

(united press association.) 7 Dunedin, October 28. An old bottle and bone gatherer, who has been living in a dreadful state of misery and filth, clothed in rags, infected by vermin, and living in a hovel without floor, died last week in a private lunatic asylum, leaving property worth £15,000. Most of his property is willed to a sister’s children in Denmark, but Mr Hardy, a well-known architect, receives a substantial legacy.
