The 24 hours’ walking sweepstake is now proceeding in the Oity Stall between D, McCune, A. Hendry, J. Huckstep, J. Hendry, and W. E. Stevens. It concludes at 10 tonight.
October 17.
The 24 hours’ walking match for £SO proved a somewhat hollow affair, J* Hendry, Huckstep, and Arthur Hendry, gave up early in the afternoon, and Stevenson at 9 o clock last night. McCune walked out his time at 10 o’clock, taking matters easy. The scores stood—McCune, 93 mi!e3 10 laps ; Stevenson, 87 miles 3 laps ; A. Hendry, 71 miles 3 laps ; J. Hendry, 65 miles 24 laps ; Huckstep, 63 mile 3 28 laps.
