THE BAPTIST UNION.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.! Auckland, October 14. At the Baptist Union to-day the question of establishing a Theological and Literary Union in connection with the Union was considered. It was decided to take immediate steps for training young men to the ministry, and the matter was remitted to a committee for prompt action. The annual conference is to be held in November. A deputation was received from the Auckland Ministers’ Assoiiation expressive of welcome to the Union. It comprised representatives of the Anglican, Presbyterian, Wesleyan, Pree Methodist, and Congregational Churches. The Rev C. Carter, of Caversham, and Rev Gilbert Carßon, of Wanganui, responded to the speeches of the deputationists. There was a soiree thia evening, presided over by Sir Wm. Pox.
