THE AUCKLAND LUMPERS.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, October 7.
The Lumpero’ Union yesterday afternoon ordered a strike of men working for Captain Nearing, the stevedore discharging the cargo of the ship Waitaugi. The reason alleged is that Captain Neariug was employing nonunion man in discharging the barque Prinz Albert. Company had yesterday to engage Deu-unioa men, as the members of the Lumpass XJuiou declined to work.
' A meeting of stevedores and shipowners this afternoon unanimously resolved that-'the actiou of the Lumpers,’ Union men is unvrarrautable, aud iu future pledged themselves not to employ uuion men as such after the 9th instant.
