THE SYDNEY FOOTBALLERS.
(UNITED ERES3 ASSOCIATION.’ 1 Auckland, September 27. Re the football match Auckland v. New South Wales, the referee’s disallowance of the goal claimed by Sydney was made through misinterpretation of the rules, and consequently the goal haß been allowed. A ball was given in honor of the visitors in the Freemasons’ Hall last night, and a fishing excursion down the Hauraki Gulf by the Rugby UnioD. The team leave for Sydney to-morrow. They were unable to accept tbe invitation to the Thames.
