ARRIVAL OF THE AORANGI AT PORT CHALMERS.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Port Chalmers, July 17. The E.M,S. Aorangi arrived at 11.5 p.m. yesterday, after a fine passage of 39 dayß 3 hours 30 minutes, including all stoppages and detentions. She brings a full cargo, 33 saloon and 156 steerage passengers, and 383 bags of mails, After transhipping mails and passengers for Canterbury and Dnnedin outside the Heads, she sailed for Wellington. She left Plj mouth on June 6th, aad arrived at Madeira on the 10th; left again same day, reaching Capetown on June 25th. Embarked passengers and mails, and left again same evening. Had remarkably fine weather. Ran down the easting in latitude 45 S. From the Cape phe averaged 334 miles per day. Passed the Snares at 6 30 a.m. on July 13th. The following are the names of her passengers for Wellington :—Saloon—Messrs Burgess, Fitzgerald, W. Hodges, C. Monrath. Steerage—Mrs M. Jop3on and family, Miss Backway, Croucher, S. Foote, E. Foote, W. Garrett, Mallalleen, J. Moir, J. Paton, R. Pratt, M. Rice, Scully, W. Taylor, J. Ehorn, J. Tepemark, J. Stagg, E. Allman, Mr and Mrs Ivey.
