ASSAULT CASE IN NAPIER.

(united press association.) Napier, July 20.

The Resident Magistrate gave judgment in the case of Mr Dascelles (solicitor) v. Mr and Mrs Pratt and Mr Alley, for assault. The ca&e arose from questions put to Mrs Pratt by Ml- Dascelles, which the Resident Magistrate characterised as tending to degrade her. The defendants afterwards committed the assault complained of. Mrs Pratt was fined £3, and costs £6 13s ; Pratt was fined £lO ; and Alley received one month with hard labor, without the option of a fine. All three defendants were bound over to keep the peace for six months in sureties of £25 each.
