MR CHAMBERLAIN ON HOME RULE.
(beuter’s telegrams.) London, June 1. The debate on the Home Rule question was continued in the House of Commons to-day. Mr Chamberlain stated that he opposed the second reading of the Bill because its passing would involve approval of the general policy of the Government as outlined in May. Mr Chamberlain advocated the establishment of a Parliament onsimilar lines to that possessed by Canada, and expressed the conviction that the elections would result in a majority for those who supported the union between England and Ireland.
