AUCKLAND COMPANIES.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) .Auckland, May 20. At a meeting of shareholders of the Auckland Tobacco Company the resolution to wind up the company was confirmed. At the annual meeting of shareholders of the New Zealand Sugar Company, the balance-sheet showed a loss of £3742 on the sale of 11,100 tons of sugar. The Chairman said the result was encouraging in the face of a disorganised market. The company expected to receive the first sugars from their Fiji estates in July. Reports respecting the crops were encouraging. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, Sir Whitaker was re-elected a Director.
