GOVERNMENT INSURANCE ASSOCIATION.

(UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Napier, May 20. A meeting of policyholders was held tonight. The meeting was addressed, by Mr Shannon, who spoke strongly of Sir Julius Yogel’s action, especially with reference to the purchase of property, and the appointment of Messrs Driver and Speight. A series of resolutions was carried deprecating the proposal to hand over the Association to Government control, and suggesting that there should be four elected members of the Board. A vote of confidence in Messrs Fisher and Shannon was passed. Mr Fisher was requested to bring a Bill before Parliament making the required ebangos.
