By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS IN ENGLAND THE NOTTINGHAM MATCH. (reuter’s telegrams.) London, May 19. The cricket match Australians versus Notts was continued at Nottingham to-day. The rain which had prevailed for some days past cleared off, and the weather was fine during the match, and the attendance consequently good. The wicket had recovered from the effects of the wet, and was fairly lively. The bowling of the Australian team was much admired, being, as a rule, dead on the wicket, but they seem hardly to work together yet, and their fielding was rather weak, several good chances being missed. The Australians, who on the previous evening had one wicket down for 50, resumed their innings, and put together 109 before being disposed of. The principal scorers were —Bonnor, bowled, 28 ; Scott, bowled, 23 ; and Garrett, run out, 30. The Home team then went to the wickets, and made 104, the most prominent run-getters being—Selby, caught, 22 ; Shacklock, bowled, 14 ; Shaw, not out, 15 ; and Sherwin, bowled, 14. The Australians then went in for their second innings, but time was called when they had scored 12 for two wickets. As the first day was lost on account of the rain, the match could not be played out, and a draw was therefore declared. THE SURREY MATCH. London, May 21. The cricket match Australians v Surrey was commenced at Kennington Oval yesterday in the presence of a large number of spectators, who manifested great interest in the proceedings. His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales was present during a portion of the day. The weather was rather unfavorable for cricket, heavy showers falling at intervals. The following comprised the Home team W. E. Roller, W. W. Read, J. Shuter, E. J. Abel, G. G. Jones, Maurice Read, Henry Wood, G. Lohman, J. Beaumont, and 1. Bowley. The Englishmen went first to tho wickets and succeeded iu putting together 171 runs before they were finally disposed of. The principal scorers were : R. Abel, run out W. \V. Read, bowled Maurice Read, bowled ... G. Lohmann, not out ... ••• Evans took three wickets for 5 runs, while Garret disposed of two for 0 _ runs. The Australians then went to the wickets, and when stumps were drawn had made 12 runs with the loss of two wickets. Spofforth being indisposed, did not take part in the match. London, May 21.

The cricket match Australians versus Surrey was resumed at the Oval to-day. The weather was splendid, and the attendance of the public was very large. The wicket was lively, and the bowling of the Home team was dead on the wicket. The Australians continued their innings, and were all disposed of for 82, the only score of note in addition to those already telegraphed being made by Trumble, who was bowled for 13. . Loliman took 6 wickets for 4 runs. Being 89 behind their opponents, the Australians

followed on with their second innings, and at the close of the day’s play had put together 171 runs with the loss of 9 wickets. The principal scores were— Bonnor, bowled 34 Blackliam, caught 43 Giffen, not out 43 The visitors were entertained last night by the Home team. London, May 22. The cricket match, Australians versus Surrey, waa concluded on the Oval to-day, the Home team winning with three wickets to spare. The weather being showery, there was only a moderate attendance, and the wicket played rather heavily owing to the rain. The Australian team who, on Friday evening had nine wickets down fob 171, went again to the wickets, but only added one to the total before the last wicket fell. G. G. Jones did good service on the Surrey side, taking five wickets for three runs. After a short interval the Surrey team went to the wickets and scored 87 for- the loss of 7 wickets, thus winning with three wickets and three runs to spare. The principal scorers in this innings were : Abel, run out ... ... ... 13 Maurice Read, bowled ... ... 14 Roller, bowled ... ... ... 19 Evans did most execution in the way of bowling, taking three wickets for three runs.
