The members of the Australian Cricketing Team visired the Indian and Colonial Exhibition to day, when they ware formally received by the Commissioners. Mr Bosisto, representative of Victoria, afterwards entertained ihem at luncheon. Mr Graham Berry, who was present on the occasion, addressed them, stating his belief that the Imperial Government would not cede the New Hebrides to France. (SPECIAL TO UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) ' London, May 11. The Prince of Wales will probably be present at the cricket match at the Oval between the - ustralian team and a team representing Surrey, which will be played on the 20th instant. THE MATCH AGAINST LORD SHEFFIELD'S ELEVEN. Yesterday the Australian Cricketing Eleven begin their English tour with a match against a team chosen ~by Lord Sheffield. This match is to be p aye 1 at Sheffield Park. The team which will be opposed to the Australians u
virtually almost, if not, quite an All-England Eleven, for it comprises the pick ot the professional and gentlemen cricketers of England. Consequently it may reasonably te expected chat the form shown by tbe colonials will give some indication of their chances ot success against the Englishmen. The team now representing Australia is a thoroughly representative one, and we feel sure that in their encounters with the cricketers at Home Captain Scott’s men will have the hearty good wishes ot‘ the people of New Zealand for their success. The team they are playing is as follows W. G. Grace, Newham, SW, Scotton, Bates, Phillip*, Ulyett, Read, Shrewsbury, Barnes, and Flowers.
