NEW ZEALAND SMELTING COMPANY.
(UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION.; Thames, May 7. At a meeting of the New Zealand SmeltingCompany, held in Auckland to-day, a resolution was passed voluntarily winding up the Company, and appointing a liquidator. In course of discussion it was stated that there was every probability of the property being purchased by several influential gentlemen, who will endeavor to work the furnace again. Aa opinion prevails, however, that smelting operations will not be resumed, as the results have so far proved disappointing.
