MR BURNETT ON THE WEST COAST.

(UNITED PEESS ASSOCIATION.) Reifton, May 9. Mr Burnett, the temperance iecturer, concluded a highly successful tour of the district at the Eyell, on Friday evening last, and left on the following morning for Westport. His campaign on the West Coast has been a pronounced success, as the following figures, giving the pledges administered by him, will show Hokitika district, 1031 ; Grey district, 1020 ; Grey Valley, 70 ; Reefton, 254 ; Blacks Point, 54 ; Boatmans, 55 ; and Eyell, 39 ; making a grand total of 252- , while 2727 were invested with the blue ribbon. A Good Templars’ lodge was established here last night, with a strong roll of members.
