Mr Gladstone informed the House of Commons to-day that negotiations had been carried on with the Sublime Porte for a Turkish occupation of Suakim, but that no other Power had been invited to occupy that place. .v Aden, May 22-. The Union Company’s s.s. Arab, which has been chartered to convey the New South Wales contingent to Australia, arrived here yesterday, and subsequently left for Sydney. The troops who were ordered from here to Suakim have returned. Cairo, May 22. General Lord Wolselev arrived here to-day on his return from Suakim. Telegrams from Alexandria report the arrival there of the transport having on board the Guards. (SPECIAL to united press associaton.) London, May 23. It is reported at Suakim that the friendly Arabs are joining the ranks of the rebel Osman Digna.. ®
