Donald stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) has been favored with instructions from the Executor of the Estate of the late John Cuthbertson, of Co. Donegal, Ireland, to offer for sale by public auction in the Large Hall of the Chamber of Commerce, Dunedin, on Friday, the 6th February 1885, at 2.30 o’clock, OTAHU T "STATION Situate in the Waiau Plain, Southland, together with the STOCK, IMPLEMENTS, AND PLANT. The Otahu Station consists of 6100 acres freehold and 7300 acres Leasehold (Run No. 165) held from the Crown for a term expiring Ist March 1893, at a. nominal annual rent of 2d per acre. The property is situated on the east bank of the Waiau River, about 18 to 20 miles distant from the Otautau railway-station by a good country road. There are at present on the Run p,bout 7000 crossbred sheep, which have been carefull and regularly culled ; eight draught and riding horses, together with a number of implements and the usual plant of a wellappointed station. The lambing last season was 75 per cent. The property is well grassed, and is capable in its present state of carrying 7000 sheep and 100 head of cattle in good condition. About 600 acres have already been laid down in English grass, and about 150 acres are under turnips and oats. There are some 2000 acres of rich swamp, partly drained and surface sown with English grass; also, about 300-acres of valuable bush, one half of which is freehold. The property is partly bounded by the Wairaki and Waiau Bivers, and is divided into numerous paddocks of from 6 to 200 acres in extent. The improvements consist of a 13-roomed dwelling-house, with the usual outhouses, men’s huts, woolshed, &c., all in first-class order. The auctioneer has great pleasure in recommending the above as a safe and profitable investment to any gentleman requiring a really good property.
