THE UNION STEAMSHIP COMPANY’S NEW ARRANGEMENTS.
(united press association.) Dunedin, September 21. During the summer months the Union Steamship Company intend to withdraw the Penguin from the Fiji service in which she is at present engaged, and to replace her by the Arawata. The Penguin will then take up the running of the Wanaka in the DunedinManukau trade, and the latter will be employed as a supplementary boat between Lyttelton Wellington and Nelson. This will give an additional weekly service between Lyttelton and Wellington each way, and two additional services between Wellington and Nelson each way. It is not proposed to put the Takapuna in eommission, unless the passenger traffic shows a very considerable improvement on that of last season. Should such appear, however, the Takapuna will also run from Lyttelton to Wellington and Nelson and back. After the Ist of December, it is intended te resume the weekly service between Auckland and Sydney which was discontinued at the close of the last summer season.
