THE DUNEDIN PROGRAMMES. Dunedin, August 14. The Committee of the Dunedin Joc!;ey Club met last evening, and arranged programmes for the spring and autumn race meetings. The sum of about L4OOO will be given in stakes at the two gatherings, of which L 2935 will be appropriated to the autumn fixtures. The programmes are exact copies of last season’s as far as money is concerned, but some alterations have been made in details. For instance, at the spring meeting, the distance of the St. Andrew’s Handicap has been reduced to one mile and a-half, the Spring Handicap to one mile, the President’s Handicap to a mile and quarter, and the Grand Stand Handicap to six furlongs. At the Autumn Meeting it has been decided, out of respect to the late Mr Marshall, for some years President of the Club, to alter the name of the Queen’s Plate to the “Marshall Memorial Stakes.” Nominations for the Dunedin Cup, Jockey Club Handicap, and Forbury Handicap, are to close on the same day, September 15th, and all other handicaps will close on November 10. (united press association.) Wanganui, August 13. The Committee of the Wanganui Jockey Club met to-day, and agreed to join the Racing Association proposed by the Hawkes Bay Jockey Club. They also removed the disqualification from the horse Mata and his jockey (Ray). The Club’s programme for the coming year was framed, the following being the principal alterations from last year : Spring Meeting—Lady’s Bracelet, £2O, first horse ; £5 second horse (substituted for the Railway Plate). Autumn Meeting—First day: Maiden Hurdle Race, substituted for Hack Hurdles; Saplings, reduced from 60 to 50 sovs; aud Flying Handicap, from 125 to 115 sovs ; Second day : Maiden Plate, reduced from 60 to 50 sovs ; Handicap Hurdles, increased from 75 to 100 sovs ; Wanganui Stakes Handicap, reduced from 250 to 200 sovs, second horse to receive 30 instead of 50 sovs ; Nursery Handicap, reduced from 60 to 50 sovs ; District Race Handicap, reduced from 200 to 15t> sovs.
