FIRE AT NELSON.

A fire broke out during church hours last evening in the centre of of a range of stables occupied by Mr Crewdson, the tramway proprietor ; Mr Thomas, cab proprietor ; and Mr Pickard, storekeeper. Mr Crewdson had one horse burned to death, and one tram-car was partially burned. The stables were completely destroyed, but Mr Crewdsou’s dwelling-house and auother building were with difficulty saved, a fact which is due to the splendid force of water available.
