Some thirty-five women and sixty-eight children, wives and families of some of the men now employed in road making on the Waimate Plains, left in the Government steamer Hinemoa for New Plymouth last night week. Their luggage made up a very respectable quantity, and indicated that they bave not been used to the hard life which they have of late been compelled to lead. We should also infer that they contemplate remaining in Taranaki. A few additional laborers, who were recently taken on, also left in the same steamer.
