Sailed : Waimate, ship, for London, with 25 passengers and the following cargo:—s446 bales wool, value £108,920; 23 bales leather, £1000; 50 cases meat, £100; 100 tons manganese ore, £1900; sundries, £IOO. Total, £112,020. 8 boxes gold, £20,000. Grand total, £130,020. . The whaler Splendid sailed last night, fell in with whales outside, and killed one. It made 100 barrels. The mail steamer Granada came alongside the outer T at 9 o’clock on Friday forenoon. She left Port Chalmers at 1.30 p.m. on the Bth; arrived at Lyttelton at 6.43 a.m. following day; left Port Cooper at 4.42 p.m. same day, and arrived here at the above hour. She reports fine weather and light head winds throughout the passage. The Granada remained alongside the wharf till 3 p.m. on Friday, during which time she was visited by crowds. In grandeur of internal arrangements she is by no means equal to the City of San Francisco—the last boat of the same line that visited the port—but, nevertheless, passengers would have little fault to find with the accommodation afforded on hoard the Granada. She cleared the wharf yesterday on her outward passage without mar or hindrance, but it was somewhat amusing to see a young gentleman in gilt buttons at the bows heaving the lead down the harbor, at any place of which, if the s.s. Granada, 2572 tons register, had sunk, not even a ripple on the water would have told of her whereabouts. NOTICE TO MARINERS. Discovery of a Shoal near Fiji. Office of the Marine Board of New South AVales, 25th February, 1876. Captain AVilson, of the schooner Zephyr, reports the existence of an extensive shoal, on which there is said to be a rock awash, in latitude 15° 58' S., longitude 177* 10' W. This position was deduced from indifferent sights. , Francis Hixson, President.
