A rumor lately obtained circulPvtion in Auckland, and from thence was telegraphed to Dunedin, that Fiji would be governed as a dependency of New ? outk Wales. If that was the case the tariff of that colony would have become that of the Fiji group. The rumor, however, was unfounded. The latest direct intelligence is to the effect that Fiji will he a Crown Colony, and therefore the free-trade policy and tariff of England will he that of the latest addition to the colonies of Great Britain.
