WELLINGTON PATENT SLIP COMPANY (LIMITED).
An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of this company was held on Monday at the offices of Messrs Bethune and Hunter, Custom House Quay. There were present sixteen shareholders, with Edward Pearce, Esq, in the chair. The business occupied but a short time, and the resolutions altering certain clauses of the articles of association that were passed at the last annual meeting were confirmed. The Chairman moved several resolutions with the following objects :—(1) To give power to the directors to alter date of annual general meeting ; (2) To reduce the number of shareholders necessary to form a quorum at meeting of shareholders ; (3) To give power to the directors to borrow money on debentures ; (4) to authorise the directors to engage in the repair or building of vessels ; (5) to authorise the directors to apply part of the capital of the company to the purpose mentioned in clause 4 above.
These proposals were duly seconded and carried without discussion, the proposition meeting with the entire approval of the shareholders.
