Sailing Match, for all boats above 18 feet keel; to start from abreast of Battery Point, to a marked distance of about 4 miles, up or down the River, as may best suit tide and wind, according to the directions of the Umpire.—Entrance £1 10s. Second Race , For Gigs, to be pulled by Amateurs; to start from a Boat moored off Battery Point, round a Boat off the Watchman and back.—Entrance 7s. a thwart; » Third Race. Sailing Match, for all boats under 18 feet keel; distance the same as the first class boats.—Entrance £l. Fourth Race . Whale Boats pulling 5 oars *, distance 6 miles. .—Entrance ss. a thwart. Fifth Race. For Canoes,paddled by Natives; distance same as Gigs. %* All Entrances to be made on or before the IGth of March, noon, at the Harbour Master’s Office. After that hour Double Entrance. The Sports will commence at 1 o’clock, p. h. Printed Instructions may be obtained from the Umpire, which will be strictly enforced. It is requested that the Crews of the several pulling Boats will be dressed alike, and distinguishing colours carried, and to be named at the time of entrance. Subscriptions will be received at Wood’s, Royal Hotel; Watson’s, Exchange Hotel; Crummer and Phillipsthal’s, Victoria Hotel; at the Office of the New Zealand Herald ; and the Treasurer. ON SALS ONE thousand Fencing; Posts, six feet and six inches long, split from Tea. tree and Riva Riva. Those posts are warranted the best ever offered for sale in Auckland.—Enquire at Mr. Anderson’s, Caledonian Arms. Those posts are morticed for two Rails.
