THE LATE CASE OF DISTRESS.

FOR the information of the Subscribers in the case of the late Sarah Wheeler, who, with her two Children, was found on Sundayevening last in a state of the utmost wretchedness and destitution, the following list of the Receipts and Disbursements is published. The poor woman had been long ill at Port Nicholson, from whence she recently arrived in the Abercrombie ; and the reasons assigned by her Husband for removing her in that hopeless state are, that it was her own desire, that he could there obtain no employment, and had been himself ill for some time. Several parties have, after enquiry, since forwarded their subscriptions, which sutns, as the funds were already sufficient for the purposes required, have been returned. Others who desired the Collectors to call again, have not been waited on a 2nd time, for the reason stated. Burial Subscription.

will be appropriated immediately in purchasing shoes, &c, for the children, receipts for which may be seen on application to Mrs. Kitchen, or Mrs. Davies, West Queen Street.' The Collectors have to acknowledge the receipt of Arrow-root and Tea, from Mr Robinson, of the Italian Warehouse; two loaves of Bread from Mr. Spicer; Calico from Anonymous; and several articles of Clothing for the Children from Mrs. Thompson,
