NEW ZEALAND HERALD. AND AUCKLAND GAZETTE. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1841.
By an arrival yesterday, we have Sydney Journals to ihes 4th] Inst., and {also late Port Phillip and Van Dieman’s Land Papers. The latest English news is via Port Phillip, to 15th July. In most of the Sydney Papers is copied from the Port Phillip Herald, of 24th ult., the subjoined article from the Standard of 10th July, and this with one or two other articles on the same subject is all the English news we observe in them. In fact the English Journals would appear to be almost exclusively devoted to reports of the progress of the elections. The Port Phillip Herald in reference to English news, says, that Foreign politics were without any novelty to give them importance, and that the commercial state of affairs was nearly tbe same as at the date of the last intelligence. In our colams will be found some interesting China news of late date, We did notgetour Papers fram the Post Office until Five o’Clock yesterday evening, and have made considerable exertion to place this English and China News before our readers. The Queen of Hanover died on the 29th June.
