To the Snkabitants of Auckland, IT having been represented to various individuals that the labouring classes at Port Nicholson are in a very distressed state, for the want of provisions and labour, it is proposed that a Subscription be raised for the purpose of chartering the Chelydra, or any other vessel of large burthen, for the purpose of proceeding to that settlement, and offer a free passage to all and every labouring person, together with their wives and children, under only one stipulation, viz : that they find their own provisions for the passage. Should this meet the approval of the public, and a sufficiency of funds be raised for the purpose, it will be further proposed to call a meeting to make the necessary arrangements. Letters addressed to “ M.” at the Office of this Paper, will be attended to, Auckland, 19th Aug. 1841. NSW MESS2CAL ESTABLISHMENT, Lower Qusen-Street. J O’NEILL, Surgeon-Accoucheur, and o Licentiate of the Apothecary’s Company, begs leave to inform the inhabitants of A/ekland that he has commenced Practice in both Departments of his Profession, and opened an Establishment as above, the business of which he is resolved to conduct on such principles as cannot fail to insure its stability and gain public confidence, viz :—that of keeping the Purest Drugs it is possible to procure in the Sydney Markets. From the Proprietor’s superior knowledge in the Compounding Department, (derived from long Experience), he hopes to please those who may send their Prescriptions, which will be compounded with the strictest Attention to insure accuracy, neatness, and despatch.
