SYDNEY.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Present—li is Excellency the Governor, the Lord Bishop of Australia, the Attorney-General, the Colonial Secretary, the Collector of Customs, Sir John Jamison, ftlr. Berry, Mr. James Macarthur, Mr. Hannibal Macarthur, Mr. Campbell, Mr. Berry, and Mr. Biaxtend. His Excellency the Governor commenced by saying that, as there was no real business foi" the Council to transact that day, he would lay before them his " Financial Minute." His Excellency then read this document to" the Council, and it was shewn thereby that there was a greater surplus of Revenue for the Colony than in any preceding year. His Excellency proceeded to observe that he had received no instructions as to New Zealand. New Zealand stood indebted to this colony in the.su m of £31,000 or thereabouts, and he had intimated to the Governor of New Zealand, that now New Zealand was declared a separate colony, she must expect no further aid from th'S colony except in case of The Colonial Secretary moved that these papers be printed.
