AUCKLAND EXCHANGE GREATER MINING INTEREST Buyers were again active oil the Auckland Stock .Exchange yesterday when the best day's business of the week was recorded. Price movements tended to irregularity compared with the previous day's gains. Australian and other overseas mining issues were firm and active. The demand lor Governments was as keen as ever.

The market opened with a blaze of activity, the biggest advances being in whares of companies which will benefit from the reduction In excess profits tax, such as Conrtauld's, British Celaneso and Home and Colonial Stores. Rises in gilt-edged stocks retlectod the Chancellor's hint of still cheaper money. Old Consols went to a new high record of £9O 10s a rise of 12s Od. HIGHER TUI PAYMENT Tui Brewery Ltd., Mangatairioka, has declared a final dividend of 5 per cent, making 7/a per cent for the year ended August 31, payable November 28. The company paid 7 per cent in the previous year ami I; per cent in 1913. BYCROFT DIVIDEND The directors of Bycroft, Ltd., have declared an Interim dividend of 4 per cent (unchanged), payablo November 10. r— HAMILTON BUILDING SOCIETY (0.C.)
