AUCKLAND BRIDES
MARRIED IN SOUTH AFRICA The marriage of Sister Betty Walker, X.Z.A.N.S., daughter of Mr H. Walker and the late Mrs Muriel Walker, of Auckland, to Lieutenant-Colonel A. D. Cilliers, M.C., of the South African Army, son of Colonel and Mrs A. A. Cilliers, of Pretoria, took place in Pretoria on April 6. The bride, who is a grand-daughter of -Nils H. Clark, of Hamilton Korul. I lonic Hay. and a niece of .Mr- I*'. W . Doidge, of Tntirnntfr, and of .Mrs l\ Stallies, of Auckland, has hail lour years' service overseas. Before her wending she was serving at the No. 1 New Zealand General Hospital in Italy, aim flew to Pretoria to he married. Both the bride and bridegroom wore their uniforms for the wedding. Their future home will be in Johannesburg. BENNETT —BRiTTAIN St. Andrew's College Chapel, Grahamstown, South Africa, was beautifully decorated with branches of flowering'peach blossom for the wedding on September 1 of -Miss Joan Brittaiu, only daughter of Mr W. B. Brittaiu, Combes Road, Rem tier a, to Captain John Bennett, younger son of Mrs Bennett, of Grahamstown, South Africa, the ceremony was performed by the Dean of Grahamstown, the Very Rev. J. M. Beaufort. . The bride was given away by Major Mullins. Her wedding gown was of white satin and a lovely old veil, lent by a friend, was caught to her head by sprays of real orange blossom. She was attended bv the bridegroom's .sister, Miss Helen'Bennett, and Mr Geoffrey Palmer was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the .home of Major and Mrs Mullins, Fair Lawn, Grahamstown.
