OLD BOYS' REUNION SACRED HEART COLLEGE The annual reunion of the Sacred Heart College Old Boys' Association was held at the college during the week-end., and was one of the most successful in recent years. A large number of old boys serving in the forces, including those rece'ntly returned from overseas, were present. A social evening was held in the main dining hall of the college on Saturday evening, the president _of the association, Mr G. Cole, presiding. The toast of the fighting forces was proposed by Mr J. D. Foote. who said that 93 old boys had given their lives on active service, that many more had been wounded, and that 25 decorations had been gained. The reunion Mass was celebrated oy the Rev. Dr J. Flanagan, and the occasional sermon was preached by the Rev. Dr 0. Snedden. After a luncheon following the Mass, statements were made by the Rev. Brother Borgia and the president in reference to a plan to provide a suitable memorial for old boys who have fallen in this war and the last. The association has decided to erect a memorial chape!, and has set out to collect the sum of £IO.OOO from old boys throughout Xew Zealand for the purpose

OBITUARY MR NORMAN HORSCROFT The death has occurred of Mr Norman Horscroft, of Papakura, at the age of 63. As a young man, Mr Horscroft was a keen athlete, and footballer, and did much on the management side for Rugby in the Matamata district. He was a selector for the Matamata Rugby Union. Mr Horscroft was well knownlh the baking trade, being a winner of the New Zealand championship for three years in succession, in addition to winning numerous trophies for competitions throughout New Zealand during his 30 years' residence in the Waikato. He was a member of the Waikato and Auckland Trotting Clubs. ZIG ZAG REVUE BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT A good programme of light entertainment was presented in the Zig Zag Revue, produced by Ophir Bees and the Radiant Revue Company, which opened at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday for a short season. The show was well received by a full house. All tastes were catered for by the production, items ranging from humorous sketches to gymnastics providing excellent variety. Outstanding numbers were the solo Calf of Gold," by John H. Bond, and the final trio from Gounod's "Faust," by John H. Bond, Sydney Wilbraham and Kathleen Farrelf. Others who attracted attention were the soubrette, Joy Asquitli, and Jack Riley, whose comedy sketches were very popular. Special numbers included the 'Glow Worm Ballet" and song scenas by Ophir Bees. The programme was presented throughout with general efficiency on the part of performers and stage hands, while lighting and scenerv effects showed careful preparation and a touch of originality.
