MR CHURCHILL TO CARRY ON
TEMPORARY MINISTRY ANNOUNCED SOON * By TeJeerauh— Press Association—Copyright (Received May 24, 6.30 p.m.) ' LONDON, May 24 The resignation of Mr Churchill as Prime Minister has been accented by the King and, by Royal proclamation, the present Parliament will be dissolved on June 15. The nomination of candidates for election to the new Parliament will close on June 25, polling will take place on July 5 and ♦hp results of the election will be declared on July 26 and 27. So manv people have changed their addresses during the war that it £ not known what the exact size of the electorate will be. More han 23,000,000 votes were polled at the last genera! election. In accordance with the power entrusted to him by His Majesty Mr Churchill will form a temporary Administration to carry on the general election. The new Government will be known a " caretaker " Government. It is thought probable that Mr Churchill will be able to announce the names of his Ministers when Parliament reassembles on Tuesday. . The " caretaker " Government will be mainly Conservative, but Mr Churchill is expected to be able to call upon the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Mr Ernest Brown, the Minister of Fuel, Major Lloyd George, and prominent non-party men such as Lord Woolton, Sir John Anderson, Sir James Grigg, Sir Andrew Duncan and Lord Leathers. As the Labour leaders and the Liberal Party leader, Sir Archibald Sinclair, will be in opposition, Mr Churchill will have many places to fill, including those of the Minister of Labour, Minister of Home Security, First Lord of the Admiralty, Secretary of State for Air and Minister of Aircraft Production. In the opinion of the lobby correspondent of the Press Association the Ministry of Economic Warfare will probably be incorporated with the Foreign Office. The "Ministry of Production will either be allowed to lapse or will be incorporated with the Ministry of Supply. The Ministry of Home Security will be disbanded. The Ministry of Information will continue, although the head of the Ministry, Mr Brendan Bracken, is likely to be transferred to the Admiralty or another Service Ministry.
