WAR LOAN PROGRESS FIGURES FOR DOMINION AUCKLAND SUBSCRIPTIONS The acting-Prime Minister, Mr Nash, announced last night that subscriptions to the 1945 Victory Loan, inclusive of promises of £1,936,195, now amounted to £10,950,613. He pointed out that of the first day's receipts of £10,150.000, approximately £3,643,000 came fr«rn national savings depositors and purchasers of bonds and the balance came from 1040 investors in Government stock. The average amount of each application, therefore, was £6500. A total of £1,000,000 had been received from insurance companies and large sums from trustee savings banks, from local bodies and other institutions such as stock anil station agents. A total of £1,613,638 has been subscribed in the Auckland district. This represents about 29 per cent of the district target of £5,836,000. The Auckland metropolitan area has subscribed £1,519,479, or 30 per cent of its quota. An official of the loan committee pointed out yesterday that these figures represented actual receipts in Auckland to date and did not include amounts promised, which were contained in the total announced yesterday morning, or amounts which may have been sent direct to the Reserve Bank in Wellington yesterday for allocation to the various districts. Following are the subscriptions to date, with the quota percentages in each case, in the country centres in the loan district: —Waimauku, £3529 (67 per cent); Howick, £5326 (43); Henderson, £6447 (34); Whitford, £724 (34); Albany, £12,% (28); Pokeno, £1504 (26); Kaukapakapa, £1522 (26); Tuakau £3809 (26); Papakura, £BIOB (24); Manurewa, £4185 (23); Wellsford, £5051 (23); Kmneu. £1556 (23); Clevedon, £1589 (22); Matakana. £869 (22); Papatoetoe, £7231 (22); Helensville, £2961 (21); Kaipara Flats, £944 (21); Otahuhu. £10,669 (19); Wniuku, £9199 (18); Bombay. £616 (1.$); Silverdale, * £583 (17); Onewhero, £723 (16); Pukekohe, £10.783 (15); Mercer, £417 (14); Leigh. £135 (13). Of £1,348,000, the Waikato- King Country's allocation in the Victory Loan, the sum of £402.388, or about 30 per cent, has been subscribed.
