IMPROVING PACER FORM OF LOYAL CHIEF Loyal Chief, who won the Eastbourne Handicap at Trentham on Saturday by a comfortable margin, is a member of C. S. Donald's team By Grattan Loyal Trom Chieftainess, by Native King from Dillon's Last, by Harold Dillon, Loyal Chief has a soulid pedigree and that he is very useful has been shown in his record of five placings in eight successive starts prior to his win. A GOOD-STAYER LORD BROOKLYN'S CHANCE The promising young pacer Lord Brooklyn, who scored decisive wins in the first division of the Bruntwood Handicap at Claudelands and the Park Handicap at Epsom in December, did not experience much luck in his races at Hawera, Awapuni and Trentham In the Stewards' >Handicap at Hawera he was beaten into fourth place aTtcr running 4.3(1 2-5 a sterling effort, as the horses who finished ahead of him were in receipt of 48yds and (iO.vds.
