WOMAN'S WORLD

CHRISTMAS PARTY WILSON HOME FUNCTION The annual Christmas festival at the Wilson Home for Crippled Children was largely attended. Father Christmas and his attendants arrived in a pirate's barge, which was filled with presents. The children, under the direction of Miss M. Robertson, sang Christmas carols and a delightful play arranged by Miss M. M. Stone entitled "How to Clean lip a Park" showed the careful training the inmates had received. A film was screened of the children's activities and how they are able to go swimming in the surf when the tide is high at the bottom of the cliff near the home, and the way in which they get down the long steps with their crutches. Conjuring tricks by Mr Grace were a popular feature of the evening. A tribute was paid by Dr C. B. Gilherd, of the Auckland Hospital, to the matron, Miss T. It. Faulconbridge, Sister Burton and other members of the staff for the line work they had done throughout the year. Among those present wore Mr W. 1?. Wilson, Mr W. K. Howitt, a former member of the home committee; members of the Hospital Board, the orthopaedic surgeons, Miss K. M. Nutscy, Miss E. S.
