AUCKLAND EXCHANGE COLONIAL SUGARS LOWER Free bidding brought a substantial turnover on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, a generally easier trend being varied by improvement in isolated instances. Colonial Sugars reflected the recent reduction in dividend and sales were made at £56 5s and £56, compared with last week's price of £57. Bank of New Zealand shares continued to fluctuate and sold J3d tip nt 45s 9d Government stock's were quiet and steady.

BANK'S RESULTS The accounts of the National Bank of Australasia (or the year ended September 30 show a net profit of £200,020, compared with £282,470 last year. Gross profit at £1.018,420 is £2OOO higher. A decrease of £-18,000 in expenses is largely offset by an increase of £41,000 in taxes. The dividend, as already announced, raised from 5 to s'/ per cent, requires £202,500, and £25,000 is written off premises, leaving £151,5:12 to carry forward, against £148,105 brought in. The balance-sheet shows an increase in deposits from £60,08-1,040 to £74,014,085. On the assets side Government securities have increased from £11,525,000 to £15,500,000, and wartime deposits with the Commonwealth Bank from £15.146.000 to £24,!),'J0,000. Advances have dropped from £.'10,100,000 to £20,212,000. Net profit represents 3.5 per cent on shareholders' funds.
