AUCKLAND EXCHANGE BIDDING NOT SO KEEN Bidding was not so keen on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, but an average turnover was effected, with values generally steady. The banking section was again the centre of activity. Unions made further improvement, but New Zealands were a trifle easier, a substantial parcel being transferred at the last call at 44s 9d, a drop of 2d. In Government issues a parcel of 3rd Liberty Loan 3 per cents changed hands at an advance of 2s (Jd, the first rise for some time. Jn the unofficial section buyers of Wilton Collieries, which have been purchased by the Government, offered 21s for the £1 shares, sellers asking 255.

JSales after hours on Wednesday. GUARANTEE CORPORATION The accounts of the New Zealand Guarantee Corporation, Ltd. (Wellington), for the year ended August 31 show a net profit of £4382. compared with £4170 last year and £4128 in 1912. The directors propose a dividend of iy 2 d a share, free of security taxes, equal to 4 1-6 per cent (unchanged), absorbing £4425. and leaving £3862 to be carried forward, against £3905 brought in. The report states that business duringfl-he year was considerably restricted. MINING YIELDS Gold fields of N.Z. DIVIDENDS DECLARED The directors of the Farmers' Trading Co. have authorised payment of the interim 1945 dividend ori A, B and C preference shares on November 30. On the A and B shares the rate is 7 per cent per annum, less the 20 per cent deduction under the Interest Adjustment Act. On the C shares the rate is 5 per cent per annum. The rates are unchanged.
