LOSSES ON SERVICE ; NAVY AND AIR FORCE Reported missing on operations, SubLieutenant Clive Eustace Woodward, - R.N.Z.N.V.R., is the son of Mr and Mrs A. A. Woodward, of Hamilton. Sub-Lieutenant Woodward was born at Wbakatane and educated at Hamilton High School. He left New Zealand about two and a-lialf years ago for service with the Fleet Air Arm. He car- " tied out his training at Pensacola. Florida, and was recently transferred to a station in Great Britain, where he was engaged on operations. He is one of four brothers, one of whom was killed while serving with the Second N.Z.E.F. in Greece, and two of whom are members of the R.N.Z.A.F.

Flight-Sergeant H. A. Johansson, aged 23, who has been kilted on active service in India, was the son of Mr H. Johansson, of Auckland, formerly of Whangarei, and was educated at the Whangarei School. He left New Zealand in December, 1941. for Canada, where he gained his wings, and he was later posted to service with a transport squadron. , x Flight-Sergeant E. G. Houghton, recently reported missing on operations, is the son of Mr and Mrs E. P. Houghton, of 30 Malvern Road, Mount Albert. He is aged 23 and was educated at the Waitaki Boys' High School, where he was captain of the senior cricket team. Later he was a member of the staff of the Bank of New South Wales at Christchurch. He gained his wings in Canada about a year ago and since then has been stationed in Great Britain.
