MARTHA DIVIDEND
Cabled advice has been received from London bv Mr. J. H. G Banks, local director and attorney, that at the annual meeting of the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi). to be held in London on June 8. the directors will recommend a first and final dividend on account of the year ended December 31. 1913, of Sd a share, free of income tax. payable on June 2(5 to shareholders registered on June 1. The dividend to shareholders on the New Zealand recrister will be paid in New Zealand currency. Transfer books •will be closed from June 1 lo June 16. The dividend compares with lOd in the previous year and 1s 3d in 1941.

KAITANGATA COAL The accounts of the Kaitanzata Coal Company (Dunedin) for the year ended February 29 show a net profit of £1873, against £6356 in the previous year and £7980 in 1942. A dividend of Is Gd a share is proposed, against 2s last year. DONAGIIY'S ROPE AND TWINE The accounts of Donaghy's Rope and Twine Company* (Dunedin) for the year ended March 3J show a net profit of £13,254, compared with £11,431 in Ihe previous year and £10,828 in 1912. There is £10,939 available. As already announced, the directors recommend a final dividend of Is 3d a share, taking £7812, and making 2s for the year (unchanged). The carry-forward is £9120, against £8372 brought in. The report says that sales of rope constituted a record, due to continued requirements of the Allied forces. Supplies of raw material generally had been ample. Principal changes in the balance-sheet are an increase in stocks from £110.332 to £110.006, a decrease in book debts from £42,099 to £35,293, and a rise in war loans and investments from £18,038 to £21.513. GRAIN AND PRODUCE The following is the official wholesale market report of the Auckland Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants' Association:— Wheat.—Wheat Is meeting a steady demand through store at 7s 4d to 7s Od a bushel. The special cash-with-order prices for delivery direct ex ship remain unchanged. Maize. —Nomina] prices for whole maize are 8s to 8s 3d a bushel and for kibbled 8s 3d to 8s 6d a bushel. Oats.—These are in short supply with through store prices from 7s 3d to 7s Od a bushel. Chaff.—There is a steady demand, with g.b.o.s. selling at £l4 10s to £ls 10s a ton. Barley.—Ample supplies are held by merchants of both clipped and undipped, prices for which are 5s 3d to 5s Od and 6« 2d to fis 5d a bushol respectively. Barleymeal.—There is practically nothing available. The nominal prices are £ll 10s to £l2 5s a ton. Stockmeal.—Merchants aro holding: adequate stocks, which are selling through store at £ll 2s 3d to £ll 17s Od ton, while the ex ship prie'e remains at £lO Ms a ton.
