FOUNDER HONOURED
TRAVEL CLUB FUNCTION There was an unusually large attendance at this week's regular Travel Club function at Milne and Chovce's Reception Hall, when a presentation was made to Mrs, Victor Macky, founder and organiser of the travel clubs throughout New Zealand and until recently president of the Auckland club'. In making the presentation the presi-dent-elect, Miss Gertrude Bertram, gave a short account of Mrs. Macky's activities and stressed the value of the travel clubs from the publicity point of view. Other speakers eulogised Mrs. Macky's work and appreciative telegrams were read from the travel clubs ni Invercargill, Dunedin and Christchurch. Wellington having disbanded until after the war. Mrs. Macky paid a special tribute to the various committees with which she had been associated during the last ten years or more. She hoped that the travel clubs in the various centres would act as international links between the East and the Western nations.
